Interesting and fun
Have not seen water-soluble chalk pastels before. These are interesting and fun. Great if you want to blend/highlight certain areas of your art work, or just turn a sketch into a watercolor. However, a better quality of paper is a must. Range of colors are excellent, intense pigmentation, price seems fair as could not find a comparison. Would buy again.

A Keeper after All
When I saw this set of water-soluble pastel sticks, I immediately placed an order. While waiting, I painted with my soft pastels for two whole days, but the results were so disappointing, I threw away the paintings and tried to cancel my order for the set of Charvin. Too late! The order was ready to be shipped. When it arrived today, the packaging impressed me, so I pulled out two color sticks and lightly rubbed them across some watercolor paper to see how they’d behave. Good result! Then I dampened a brush and ran it across the colors. Nice! Very nice. So I’m giving up soft pastels but keeping these hard ones – less messy and so versatile.
